Hi, I'm Milena Olga, the artist and storyteller behind MilinoInk.
Hi, I’m Milena Olga, the artist and storyteller behind MilinoInk. I was born and raised in eastern Cuba, a place where colors are vibrant, stories are shared on street corners, and creativity is a way of life.
My passion for making things has been with me since I was a little girl, always wanting to turn ideas into something you could see and touch.
Art school was an incredible adventure. I learned the techniques, the tools, and how to navigate the whirlwind of thoughts and emotions that come with being an artist.
But it was when I discovered printmaking that my heart truly found its home.
A Love Affair
The first time I saw a print emerge from the press, I was hooked. The smell of ink, the anticipation, the pure joy of seeing my work come to life on paper… it was magical. For years, I had relied on a baren and other hand tools, but when I finally got my hands on a custom-made vertical press, it was a game-changer.
This press allowed me to create larger, more intricate prints with consistent pressure and precision.
It opened up a whole new world of possibilities, and I’ve been exploring them ever since. But even with this incredible tool, the heart of my work remains the same: the joy of carving into linoleum, the thrill of inking up the block, and the pure magic of seeing the image transfer to paper.
More Than Meets the Eye
My linocuts aren’t just pretty pictures. They’re stories – tales of my experiences, my dreams, and the things that matter to me.
I want my art to do more than just decorate your walls. I want it to spark conversations, make you think, and maybe even touch your heart.
We all have stories to tell, and art is a powerful way to share them. My linocuts are my way of connecting with you, of sharing a bit of myself, and hopefully, of bringing a little beauty and meaning into your world.
